Our 11+ mocks are second to none. Pupils who sit our mock exams are at a huge advantage in the real thing. The format and questions are very similar and we have often predicted some actual 11+ questions.
The Experience:
We make the whole experience as like the 11+ as possible. Pupils arrive and are separated into different rooms. We have sixth formers to help with nerves, and invigilators with 11+ exam experience. They will act and say the same things as in the real 11+. There is a short break between papers.
Feedback and Comments:
You will receive a full breakdown of each section with advice on how to improve. Your marks are compared to all other pupils who have sat the same exam (up to 100 on each day last year). It will be clear what your child's strengths are and also where they need to focus in the future.
There will be a commentary on the exam and the general results. In your personal feedback there will also be links to video clips to help explain the hardest questions.
We shall add personal details if they are relevant to help further improvement. We note if pupils finish early, if they fidget, and also if they work solidly. We'll add this information where relevant to the comments to help you help your child.
How many should I do?
The best results in 2025 were from pupils who sat at least one mock per month from March to September.
Starting early (March or April) means you can spot weaknesses and work on them. Early mocks are a type Formative Assessment which means they inform you (and your tutor) how to improve scores.
A monthly mock allows you to check progress regularly. More topics are covered and pupils will be exposed to different sections both familiar and unusual.
Late mocks a week or two before the 11+ are a great way to put into practice all skills and knowledge, and calm nerves.
Our Quest Mocks for Colyton have been designed to replicate the real thing,
There are 3 tests with a short break between each paper.
Paper 1 English (40 minutes Multiple Choice)
Paper 2 Maths (40 minutes Multiple Choice)
Paper 3 Writing a short piece from a prompt (20 minutes including 5 minutes of planning)
All papers and answer sheets are in the same format as the real thing. Pupils go home with the questions booklet.
Results are usually available the next day.
